Your presence at our wedding is more than we felt comfortable asking for (but we asked anyway since we really wanted you there!). To avoid any further discomfort, we request that your gift to us be an over-the-top and over-indulgent experience in Costa Rica - we hope you can make a great trip out of it (beyond just coming for the wedding), and ask that you use whatever is left of your savings on yourself.
For those of you that insist on a gift, here's our situation...
We are blessed with everything we want, need, and can fit under our roof. We have more dishes then we'll ever have guests at one time, three sets of sheets (when we only use two), awesome towels we hope to never have to replace (because they don't sell them anymore), and are so maxed out on kitchen gadgets and appliances that we had to give most of them away when we moved into this place. We are fortunate enough that we truly don't need any basic life/home supplies.
Instead, we have followed the recommendation of friends who recently had a destination wedding, and we have decided to do a honeymoon registry.
